Description

Asparagus racemosus is commonly known as Shatavari, atirasaa, shatmuli, bahusutaa, shatpado . and belong to liliaceae family. Shatavari means "she who possesses a hundred husbands. It is the creeper plant. It is a shrub and.climb over one to three high with semi shade or no shade.Even the color of the asparagus flower is discrete being a greenish yellow, barely seen from the context of the whole plant. The flowers are white colors,neutral and pollinated. The stem is strait , climb, bitter and smooth. The leaves are like pine-needles, small and uniform. Planting comfrey close can give a seal source of leaves to choose for mulch and that it loves liquid manure made with comfrey.The root has clustered.It require light ,sandy ,well drained soil. and free frost climate. How to use in different diseases

Asparagus racemous root powder is very useful in dysentery. The root powder is taken 1teaspoonful with water twice daily.The oil is useful in rheumatism. The oil is taken twice daily.The ghee is useful for brain complaint. The ghee is taken once daily.The Syrup is useful for stomach aches conditions . It should be taken one to two teaspoonfuls twice a day .The root powder is useful for ulcer and takenn twice a day witth water. Root boiled with some bland oil, is used in various skin diseases such as pimples .Root is boiled in milk and the mild is administered to relieve bilious dyspepsia and diarrhoea and promote appetite root is also used in rheumatism..Boiled leaves smeared with ghee are appleid to boils, small pox etc..Juice of the drug is useful in gonorrhea. Asparagous sarmentous has been equated with mahaa- shatavari. The whole plant is used in stiff pain, joint pains , neck pains. The juice is useful in strong diuretic action. and hence works well in the helps to clean and revitalize kidneys, bladder ,relieve edema, especially arising from congestion around the heart.As asparagus contains a complex, identified to stimulate the making of sex hormones.

Dose and Preparations

  • Powder ,oil ,decoction, ghee, Syrup

  • Powder- 3 to 6gm

  • Oil- Twice daily

  • Syrup- 10 to 15ml
