Blackberry

Description

Blackberry is a, perennial with thorny shrub. The flowers are white, with five petals. It is found in Kashmir, Assam and Tamil nadu and American tribes.A perennial plant whose sour and sweet :fruits are rich in chlorophyll and manganese. Blackberries and blackberry leaf infusions are well known for their astringent and blood building properties. The extract of the leaves showed anticonvulsant activity against electrical induced convulsion potentiated hypnotic effect of pentobarbitoe sodium and had positive inotrophic and chronoscopic effects. The plant gave a triterpenic acid, rubitic acid, characterized as 7 alpha-hydroxyursolic acids. The leaves contain flavonoids, glycosides of kaempferl, quercetin and tannins. Polyphenol content of the fruit exhibited scavenging and antilpo-peroxidant actions. It is a good basis of the vitamins C and E and the mineral, It is most useful to wildlife and people.

Uses

Dysentery, Whopping cough, Wound, Mouth sores, Hemorrhoid, Diarrhea. The leaf is useful for menstrual disorders. The leaf is in nonspecific,diarrhoe, sore throat etc.The leaves are used for painful and profuse menstruation and other disorders .The root and stem is also hepful in colic pains.The root is also useful in sore throats, mouth ulcers and gum inflammations. The root bark is helpful in cough, cold, and chest infections and other bronchitis conditions. They have traditionally been used in folk medicine to treat anaemia and diarrhoea and as an astringent for the urinary system. They also have tonic and decongestant properties and can help relieve the symptoms of enteritis. This herb is useful in weakness, allergy and inflammations. It contain Bioflavonoids and hence useful in controlling such common menopausal symptoms as hot flashes, stress, irritability, and tired.

The fruit are eaten cooked or uncooked. The leaves are useful in uterus related problems such as inflammation etc.

How to Use in Different Diseases

Blackberry astringent is useful in hemorrhoid. As form of decoction is useful for diarrhea. It should be taken 10 to 15ml twice a day . A decoction of the root is used for dysentery and whooping cough. As a leaf tea is useful to facilitate child birth . and helpful in canker sores.An infusion is used for bowel complaints and it also best blood purifier. Decoction of this plant is good as mouthwashes. As a syrup forms is very effective in cold, cough, asthma, breathing problems, and chest infections. The powder is useful for diarrhea and it should be taken one to two teaspoonfuls twice daily with water at mealtime. The juice is useful for stomach upset such as pain, acidity, to stimulate body, heart and fever. An ointment is also applicable wounds, cut, bleeding, itching, swelling, aches, redness etc.

Dose and Preparations
